Agatha Bednarczuk and Eduarda ‘Duda’ Santos Lisboa showed that they are likely to be among the leading lights on the upcoming FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour after winning the Joao Pessoa leg of the Brazil Beach Volleyball Tour on Sunday.
Agatha and Duda won their first title together by coming back to defeat rankings leaders Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes 2-1 (21-18, 20-22, 14-16). Despite the loss Larissa and Talita remain top of the Brazilian standings with 1,840 points.
Agatha’s former partner Barbara Seixas and Fernanda Berti won bronze when they beat Elize Maia and Taiana Lima 2-1 (21-14, 16-21, 15-11).
“We always go in to win, the goal will always be that, and when things don’t happen on the court, we try to find out what we are doing wrong,” Agatha said.
“Larissa and Talita are two great players and we had to sweat for every point, so I’m floating on clouds after winning this title.”
